Love never dies a natural death. It dies because we don’t know how to replenish its source. It dies of blindness and errors and betrayals. It dies of illness and wounds; it dies of weariness, of witherings, of tarnishings.” ~ Anaïs Nine
I had the above topic in mind but I needed inspiration to start it up. While still waiting for that to surface, I decided to go through all my favourite blogs. In Amaka media's blog, I was going through these love quotes from yesterday's post and there and then, the above quote gave me the inspiration I so needed.
So the question is do you really believe in second chances, in this case when it comes to love? With the above quote, it is understandable that love doesn't die a natural death, deep within us, a tiny light of love is hidden amidst all the hate we bear when something wrong happens to our love life. I keep asking, how come that someone who you couldn't live without, someone you loved to the end of the earth suddenly becomes your greatest villain, someone you now hate with passion. Please, what happened to the love, where did the love disappear to?
Then it hit me, the above quote is so true. Love never dies a natural death, the hate that now takes over is as a result of the above listed traits as well as so many hurtful things. Just like there is a thin line between life and death so is there a thin line between love and hate. It happens within a blink and before you know it, you are consumed with hate.
Nonetheless, there are also second chances. So can you despite that thing that made you hate your partner, still give him/her a second chance? I watched a movie where the former love birds swore to kill each other, so when the hunt was on, and when they came face to face to each other, they couldn't go on with it, the love they had/have for each other took control and drove the darkness-filled hate away, and there and then they kissed and made up. The people sent to kill were just staring in aghast but had to leave, Mission aborted.
Why do you think that after people break-up or get divorced, one way or another, they'll end up coming together. This word LOVE Is a spirit, a bond, a strong thing.
So you see, I believe that second chances exist in some cases shaa, not all though.
So, what's your take on this piece. Do bare your mind. Love ya'll.
